All-Round Lawn Seed

PREPARATION
• Remove all weeds, surface stones and debris.
• Dig or rotovate the soil to a depth of 15-22cm.
• Create a level, firm surface by close treading, heel to heel or by rolling the
whole area. Rake until the surface soil is fine and crumbly.
• If possible, leave the area to settle for a few weeks. Level any uneven areas and remove any weeds that appear.
• To give the lawn a good start a pre-sowing fertiliser can be raked in at the recommended rate. Seed should not be sown until 5-7 days after application.
SOWING
• The best time to sow is when the soil is warming up after a rain shower.
• Shake the box before sowing half the seed along the area and half the seed across the area to give even coverage.
• Sow the seed at a rate of 35g per square metre.
• Rake in the seed. If no rain falls within 1 week water thoroughly with a fine spray.
• The sown area should be kept moist until the seed is well established. Young grass will appear in 14-21 days.
• Weeds are likely to appear from the soil. These will be killed off with regular mowing.
LAWNCARE
• If the weather is dry keep the soil moist with regular watering using a fine spray.
• Keep off the lawn until the grass is 5-8cm high.
• Make the first cut at this stage just ʻtoppingʼ the grass. Subsequent cuts can gradually be lowered to an ideal height of 25mm.
• Mow regularly to maintain a healthy lawn (try not to remove more than one third of the height in any one mow).
• A good fertiliser should be applied at least once a year as recommended by the manufacturer.
• Rake off dead leaves in the autumn and winter.

Time spent preparing the soil before sowing will make a big difference to the quality and resilience of your final lawn.

Seeds If you have any concerns or problems with your seeds, please return the packet to us for replacement using the returns address label on your despatch note, telling us what the problem is. Returning the packet will enable us to trace the batch from which it was packed, and to thoroughly investigate any quality control issues.

Return Postage

Costs If a product we have supplied is defective, damaged, or incorrectly supplied, we will be happy to resolve this issue at no cost, either by replacing, refunding or collecting and exchanging the item. If you wish to return a product which was correctly supplied, but which did not meet with your expectations, in accordance with your rights under The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations, we may require you to cover the cost of return. Please contact our Customer Services Team before returning the goods in this case, who will confirm the correct return address and method of return.

Refund Payments

Once a returned item arrives with us, we will refund where appropriate using the same payment method used at the time of ordering, within 14 days.
