Petunia Seeds

One of our most popular and widely grown summer bedding and container plants, the petunia enjoys full sun and dry weather, where it will reward us with masses of jewel-like blooms in a wonderful assortment of colours.

It has been the subject of an enormous amount of breeding work in the last 50 years, and it is no wonder so many of us love to grow this dazzler.

Multiflora – very versatile and weather tolerant for all types of display.

Grandiflora– the largest and showy blooms, best in containers to protect the flowers.

How to Sow and Grow Petunias
Sow indoors, a warm kitchen windowsill is ideal. Sow thinly on surface of a tray of pre-watered compost. Place in warm, light position - 20-25°C(68-77°F). Keep compost moist. Cover tray with clingfilm to preserve humidity, but remove when seedlings appear, usually in 14-21 days. Transplant seedlings 5cm(2in) when large enough to handle. Grow on in cooler, but not cold conditions. Accustom young plants to outdoors (avoid frost), before planting out 25cm(10in) apart, once frosts end.
