From the stable block of Lillie Langtry's former Newmarket home in 1978, Mr Fothergill's began selling seed to garden shops and centres. Today, the company is one of the most respected in the UK market, supplying over 3000 garden centres, shops and retail outlets. We now also supply to international markets, including a large presence in Australia and direct to UK customers through mail order.
The home of Mr. Fothergill's still remains at Kentford, Newmarket, although the premises are now significantly different, with purpose built offices, seed test laboratory, packing and storage buildings - plus a seed trial ground and additional sites elsewhere for plant growing and distribution.
Here at Mr Fothergill's our aim is to provide a product range for all your gardening needs from flower and vegetable seed to young plants, potatoes, onions, garlic, shallots, vegetable plants, soft fruit and fruit trees. We are sure that from the amateur to the enthusiast there is something to meet your requirements.
All of us at Mr Fothergill's genuinely care for our customers and insist that the quality of all our seeds and plants and level of customer service are of the highest standards - we want you to enjoy shopping with us! However we are only human and very occasionally things do go wrong, but please rest assured, we will always do our very best to put things right. Should you be dissatisfied for any reason, we will gladly send replacements or refund the purchase price upon request.
For your reassurance our site fully encrypts your personal details using industry-standard SSL technology (look for the 'golden padlock' in your browser as you checkout).
We hope you enjoy browsing through our site.
Good luck for the gardening season and thank you for visiting us.
With best wishes
John Fothergill and Dave Carey Joint Managing Directors.
