Broccoli Seeds

Broccoli, like cabbage and cauliflower is a brassica. The word Broccoli originates from the Italian word broccolo, which means ‘the flowering top of a cabbage’. It’s a floret made up of countless little flowers. There are two main types: Sprouting broccoli and headed broccoli often referred to as ‘Calabrese’ or Autumn Broccoli, as it is usually grown to harvest in autumn. The ‘cut and come again’ sprouting broccolis crop in spring and so tend to be hardier. Both are extremely tasty, versatile, and well worth growing. They have similarly high nutritional values and are often referred to as ‘Superfoods’.
