This super saver Sweet Potato Plant Collection consists of our three favourite sweet potato varieties which are all British-grown varieties well suited to our climate. You will receive 15 pants, 5 each of the following varieties:
Erato Orange Similar to the well known Beauregard, this variety has an intensely orange flesh with a bright orange-red skin. The thick and oval tubers have an excellent flavour and are perfect roasted or baked.
Erato Gusto This white fleshed variety has been topping orange varieties in many recent taste tests. Gusto will grow large oval tubers, with a sweeter white/cream fleshed flavour – lovely roasted and seasoned as wedges.
Erato Violet The tubers of this unique variety more than make up for their smaller tuber size with their unique and very attractive colour that remains after cooking. A true gourmet variety with a rich sweet flavour adding colour to many dishes - hard to find in the shops!

Sweet potatoes like it hot, they crop best when kept at temperatures between 20 and 27°C (70 to 80°F). So if you’re growing outside, start by warming the soil now with a covering of black polythene and then planting through holes in the plastic when you receive the plants. We recommend covering the plants with a cloche or fleece as the extra heat will make a real difference. If you are growing in a greenhouse or polytunnel, plant in containers or directly into beds and train the foliage up canes or string. They prefer well drained soil and will need regular watering and feeding, harvest in late autumn when the leaves have turned yellow and died back.
