Planting & Harvesting
Sow & Grow
Sow indoors March-April in a tray of moist compost. Sow thinly. Cover with a thin layer of compost and firm gently. Cover tray with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at 18°C (65°F). Keep moist. Remove cover when seedlings appear. When large enough, transplant singly into 9cm (3")pots. Grow on at 15°C (60°F). Stand outside for a few days in May (avoid frosts), then transplant, 60cm (24") apart, in June, in a well-prepared bed or growing bag. Harvest: July-October.
