Our collection contains three great tasting varieties used by some of the world's leading chef's, this includes 1.5kg each of:

1.5kg (approx.15-20 tubers)

Ratte (Maincrop) - Of almost legendary status in France, this white-skinned, yellow fleshed maincrop variety has a supremely waxy texture and nutty flavour. Wonderful in salads, or boil with skins on, peeling, mashing and serving with lashings of butter.

Pink Fir Apple (Maincrop) - A knobbly beauty with a memorable taste which has been kept going by enthusiasts since its introduction in the 1850s. Potato Pink Fir Apple is a classic salad variety and in the top ten for flavour, best cooked in its skin and enjoyed hot or cold with butter. Its unique 'earthy' flavour improves with storing. A heritage variety.

King Edward (Maincrop) - hugely popular and still highly regarded, this is a good choice for all-round use. The large white tubers are splashed with red and their creamy white flesh is of the highest quality.

Potatoes are one of the most rewarding vegetables to grow. There’s the nurturing process of chitting, planting and earthing-up, the anticipation of a good harvest as you dig through the soil and, of course, the unbeatable taste of fresh, home-grown, potatoes.

All potatoes (except for maincrops) will benefit from ‘chitting’ prior to planting out. The chitting process encourages the seed to sprout, which then when planted, helps them to establish more readily, leading to bigger crops. Simply place them, blunt end up, in an old egg box until the shoots are approximately 1½ to 2½cm (½ to 1in).

Potatoes are delivered in 1.5kg bags, each pack containing approx. 15-20 tubers.
