Melkior is the first mildew-resistant shallot variety and has been given many awards because of this. It’s slightly elongated ‘Jersey’ shape is firm with a pink tinged flesh and a superb flavour. Its skin is a lovely dark copper colour with a shiny appearance. This variety has a good yield and a high dry-matter content which means it will have excellent storage abilities, keeping well until April or May.
Easy to grow, each bulb produces several shallots for summer harvesting. They take very little space and are guaranteed to repay your efforts with a bountiful crop. Approx. 30 shallots per 500g pack.
