Spring Planting Onion Shallot & Garlic Collection

The collection consists of 1 pack each of:

Garlic Flavor (Softneck) - Perfect for planting in the spring, Flavor is frequently grown in both Italy and France and is well suited to our UK conditions too. This softneck variety produced lovely bulbs with a white, strong skin and cloves that are purple tinged, juicy and full of fragrance and flavour.

Shallot Melkior - The first mildew-resistant shallot variety and has been given many awards because of this. It’s slightly elongated ‘Jersey’ shape is firm with a pink tinged flesh and a superb flavour. Its skin is a lovely dark copper colour with a shiny appearance. This variety has a good yield and a high dry-matter content which means it will have excellent storage abilities, keeping well until April or May.

Onion Stuttgarter Giant - A much favoured variety with flat-shaped, yellow skinned bulbs. Onion Stuttgarter Giant produces excellent yields and keeping properties.

Spring Planting Onion Sets
Growing your own onions couldn't be easier! Our quality sets are chosen for their excellent flavour and high yields, ensuring a plentiful supply for the kitchen. Sets planted in the spring should be ready for harvesting from late summer/early autumn. There are approx 75 sets per 250g pack.

Spring Planting Shallots
Easy to grow, each bulb produces several shallots for summer harvesting. They take very little space and are guaranteed to repay your efforts with a bountiful crop. Approx. 30 shallots per 500g pack.

Garlic
Each year we work with our friends at the Garlic Farm, one of the world’s leading garlic farms, and all of our garlic is sourced from them ensuring we always supply superior top quality garlic from expert growers. Easy to grow and care for, it can even be grown in pots on the patio! You should always buy garlic from a reputable source and never plant shop bought, cooking garlic. All of our bulbs are certified as disease and virus free.
