Planting & Harvesting

Sow & Grow

GROWING INSTRUCTIONS: Sow indoors, February-March, in trays or pots of seed compost. Do not cover the seeds, but press gently into the surface. Keep compost moist. A clear propagator lid or sheet of glass over the pot or tray is ideal. Maintain a temperature of 15-21°C (60-70°F). Seedlings appear after 21-28 days. If germination does not occur within this time, place trays or pots in a polythene bag and put in a refrigerator for 2-4 weeks. When seedlings are large enough to handle, pot on individually and harden off outside as soon as the plants are established, then plant out to final position. Flowers: June to October; may need protection during the coldest months.
