Bilberry Fruit Plants
A British native, closely related to the blueberry, bearing rosy-red fruits during summer. The berries are high in antioxidants and are ideal for jams, pies, wine making, and for eating fresh. Requires ericaceous (acidic) compost.
These more unusual types of berry are great for container growing. They make attractive features for patios, balconies and roof gardens, and provide tasty fruits which can be eaten fresh, used in drinks and smoothies or cooking with.
