Orange and Lemon Exclusives in
African Marigold Kees Orange and lemon-scented Antirrhinum Remini Scent F1 are just two of the seven exclusive flower and vegetable seeds among 12 new introductions Mr Fothergill’s has launched as part of its 2012 retail offer. Kees Orange is remarkable for its large, vivid and intensely orange double blooms, while the dainty ‘snapdragon’ heads of Remini Scent F1 in a wide range of colours have an intriguingly lemon fragrance. The third exclusive new flower for 2012 is the beautifully bicoloured Rudbeckia Aries, the golden petals of which have a rich, chocolate-brown centre. It is ideal for bedding and border displays and is also fine for cutting.
Mr Fothergill’s is also introducing four exclusive additions to its vegetable seed range. These include Carrot Cascade F1 and Beetroot Red Hawk F1. Cascade F1 is a superb Chantenay type, perfect for lifting young for a delicious crop of top quality sweet roots. Baby Chantenay carrots are always sold at premium prices in the shops, so many gardeners will be keen to grow their own. Beetroot Red Hawk F1 is remarkable for its high sugar content. This fast growing variety is ideal for lifting young or leaving to mature, when it retains its excellent internal colour and flavour.
The quartet of exclusives is completed by Sweet Corn M160Y F1, which yields high quality cobs packed full of flavour, and Strawberry Delican F1, which produces plenty of superbly flavoured fruits.
