Blueberry Brigitta

Even before the cherry-sized fruits are produced, Blueberries will have already given a marvellous ornamental display! When they first emerge the leaves are a bronze red, slowly turning to green and serve as an ideal backdrop to the creamy-white blossom. These little blue beauties are packed with health boosting compounds which amongst other things are said to slow the ageing process, to protect against Alzheimer's and heart disease and even reduce the effects of carcinogens. The perfect patio crop! This late season variety ripens towards the end of August producing large, firm, light blue berries. The richly flavoured fruit retains quality well, and is ideal for freezing.
