Salad Plant Collection

Consisting of :-

Escarole - A crunchy green, less bitter than other varieties with broad, pale green leaves and a little more bite to it than lettuce. Rich in vitamins and great for cooking and adding to many different dishes. Also great in a mixed green salad.

Chicory 'Witloof Zoom F1' - A great variety for producing forced, blanched chicons. Whilst growing, there is no need to cover with soil, just keep roots in the dark. Rather than cutting chicons off, gently break them off to encourage a second, smaller crop to grow.

Radicchio 'Augusto' - Classic deep red, round heads with white veins and green outer leaves. Strong growing and bolt resistant. Use young (mainly green) leaves in salads, or allow to 'head' and colour. Crisp, crunchy and tasty!

Endive 'Frenzy' - Finely curled, deeply cut leaves that can be picked as baby leaf. Hearts of mature plants will self-blanch to a pale yellow. An excellent source of vitamins A, C and fibre.
