Sowing/Planting and Flowering/Harvesting Guide

JAN FEB MAR APR MAY JUN JUL AUG SEP OCT NOV DEC

Key       Sow Indoors       Sow/Plant Outside       Flowers/Harvest

Sow outdoors, March-May, where they are to flower, 0.5cm (¼") deep, directly into finely-prepared, well-drained, but not rich soil, which has already been watered. Seedlings usually appear in 7-28 days. Thin seedlings to 23cm (9") apart. Water well until plants are established. For a continuous display, make sowings at two to three-week intervals. Flowers: June-October.
Bring wildlife into your garden: Much loved by nectar-feeding insects, such as butterflies, bees and lace wings. Later in the season, when seed ripens, it becomes valuable food for many bird species.
